Every time we talk about the tragic incident of Titanic, it doesn’t look too far from us..instead it seems as if it has just happened a few years ago..
What we know is a story of an unfortunate ship Titanic, but what about the three selfish ships we did not know? The selfish ships hail from the same time, same see and same incident too.
Yes, now there is a news which hurts more than the incident itself. They say, there were three ships around which could have saved the passengers of Titanic. But they let everyone drown. Why?
Before knowing where these new facts are coming from which are suddenly surprisingly shocking everyone today, let us tell you that the name of the ship that was closest to Titanic was “SAMSON”.
This ship SAMSON was the closest witness to this terrible historical event. It was standing at a distance of just seven miles from Titanic at the time of the incident.
THE FIRST SELFISH SHIP
They say, the captain of this SAMSON ship not only saw the white flames fired from Titanic, but also heard the screams of the unfortunate passengers of the sinking Titanic. Still, SAMSON did nothing because of the people it was carrying on board. They were the folks who were illegally hunting precious sea creatures from the deck of SAMSON.
They did not want to get caught. Therefore, even after seeing the condition of Titanic, they did not lend a helping hand and instead turned their ship to the other side. And then they kept moving onwards.
Knowing this fact, someone realized a truth of life – “This ship can be considered like those people among us who become so engrossed in their sinful life that whatever little feeling of humanity was left there in them – that also ends and then their whole life is spent in hiding their crimes…”
THE SECOND SELFISH SHIP
“CALIFORNIAN” was the name of the other ship which was present near the sinking Titanic. At the time of the incident, its distance from Titanic is said to be 14 miles. The captain of this ship also heard the cries for help from Titanic, heard the expressions of death and struggle for life of the drowning people in the form of screams and the passengers of this ship came out and saw white flames in the sky with their own eyes.
But since the unfortunate ship Titanic was surrounded by ice rocks at that time, to help it, this ship would have to go around those rocks and go towards it. The captain neither bothered about it, nor did he have any trouble with this incident. Therefore, the captain of CALIFORNIAN thought it better to go to his bed and hide himself in the blanket and sleep.
In the morning, when this selfish ship reached near Titanic, more than four hours had passed since Titanic was wrapped in a sheet of sea surface and engulfed in its lap. Misfortune had seen 1569 passengers including Titanic’s captain Edward Smith going into the arms of death. There was nothing left to see.
THE THIRD UN-SELFISH SHIP
There was a third ship there, “CARPHATHIYA” and its distance from Titanic was 68 miles. This distance is not a big distance for the ships crawling on the vast ocean. The captain of that ship heard the heart wrenching cries of Titanic passengers on the radio. But this ship did not behave like the previous two ships.
This ship was headed in the other direction but it changed its course and started running towards Titanic so that it could be helped. The bravery of this ship should be saluted that it did not care about the ice rocks and dangerous weather and started moving rapidly towards Titanic. But its distance was quite far and on top of that the ice rocks prevented the ship from moving at full speed and the weather was so bad that it had to move carefully.
It was very late in coming. When this ship reached near Titanic, it had already sunk. Even after sinking, two hours had passed. This was the ship that is said to have successfully saved the lives of the 710 surviving passengers of the Titanic with the help of lifeboats.
